Frode Alfheim unanimously re- elected as union leader
The joint national meeting re-elected Frode Alfheim (54) as the Union leader for Industri Energi.
«I’m happy for your trust, the Congress today has appointed a solid team that will lead Industri Energi for the next four years, I can assure you that our Union will continue to be a powerful union in the future», he said.
Frode Alfheim comes from Dønna municipality in Nordland county. He has been the leader in Industri Energi since 2017. Before 2017 he acted as Deputy leader . Since 2010 he has been responsible for Trade Union policy department in Industri Energi from 2006 to 2010. From 2004 to 2006 he has been Deputy leader for the Norwegian Oil and Petrochemicals Trade Union (NOPEF) from 2004 to 2006.
Alfheim started working in 1986 at Mosjøen Aluminum (now Alcoa Aluminum) and at Securitas in Oslo.
In addition, Alfheim has been involved in the youth Trade Union movement from 1990 to 1994 in LO / AUF. From 1998 to 2003 he has worked as an oil secretary in LO and LO Industri. Alfheim has also worked as a political adviser in the Ministry of Defense (1996), the Ministry of Trade and Industry (1996-97) and the Ministry of Labor and Administration (2001).
Deputy Terje Valskår (from Eramet Sauda) announced in advance that he did not want re-election. Cay Nordhaug (35) from Glencore Nikkelverk in Kristiansand has been newly elected to the federal leadership. He has been the main shop steward at Nikkelverket since 2013.

Industri Energi is LO’s fourth largest union. It has over 56,000 members in the oil, gas and land industries, which represents 80 percent of the Norwegian export value. Industri Energi has offices in Oslo, Stavanger and Brussels (EU).
